Dream. Dare. Do.

Dare

The COVID-19 pandemic is a once in a century happening that is likely to leave the vulnerable even more vulnerable. There will be those who will shrink and shrivel. There will be those who will close their eyes to the suffering and go on with business as usual because it does not affect them. And then there will be those who will care. They will dare to take the path less traveled. They will dare to dream, a dream of a better tomorrow for everyone. They will Dare to do. Dare to curb their selfish gene and do what is needed….for the welfare of everyone.

Will you choose to watch from the sidelines? Or will you dare to do what is needed? Read on to see what we are doing and how you can help.

What We Do

We bring to bear bleeding edge technologies such as Robotics, A.I. , IoT and the Cloud to solve some of the most vexing problems facing organizations and humanity. We are working on projects that attempt to solve hunger, solve bias, solve mental health and addiction. The scale of problems we wish to tackle is large and only together can we solve them.

Why Action Research

We believe that our time on this planet is limited and what we invest our time in, defines who we are. Our finite moments also beg the question – ‘To What End?’. DARE Labs (Detroit Action Research Labs) is our attempt to answer these questions. It fosters research and action intended to make a positive dent in the universe.

Normal research generally centers around publishing papers. While that is an essential part of research, we believe it can go further. Our modus operandi is to identify the end and then execute quality research and committed action towards that end. This alternate model takes a lot more out of us, but helps us look straight in the mirror when asking ourselves – ‘To What End’?

Detroit and Beyond

Detroit is a city of enigmas. It has had a glorious past at the peak of the automotive industry. It went down in flames with the race riots in the 1960s. It has been on a path to recovery in the recent past and a lot has been written about its promise. However, challenges remain, especially for the vulnerable. Detroit, today has all the challenges and opportunities that an old-economy region might encounter in its efforts to turn a new leaf. In that sense, Detroit is a microcosm of the challenges and opportunities facing the many places on earth that are undergoing renewal to keep pace with changing times. We are especially focused on ensuring that as Detroit renews, it becomes a model for inclusive growth.

We are also rooted in Detroit because many on our team have connections past and present with the city. Detroit is where we design, test, and build solutions, and take those that are successful to the rest of the world. Born in Detroit, built for the World.
